Give.

For the past 45 years, Haley House has been run primarily by volunteers. This helps us keep our operation costs as lean as possible, while staying true to our mission of fostering relationships and building community through nourishment. We hope all our volunteers enjoy their service, but also the experience as a whole.

Live-in Community

Sharing daily life and nourishment. 23 Dartmouth Street
Long-term Volunteers:
Community Members receive free room, board in exchange for managing a variety of Haley House services. This is a full-time commitment that includes living simply and communally with 4-9 other members while contributing primarily to the day-to-day running of the Soup Kitchen. Members spend their days engaging with guests and challenging attitudes that perpetuate suffering. It's a way of life that celebrates the value of community by showing what can be accomplished through sharing resources and valuing relationships.

College Immersion Groups:
We welcome a limited number of college immersion groups to spend the weekend living and working with the Live-in Community. We request a $25 per student donation to offset the cost to the community.

Bakery Café

We often need extra help with serving customers, washing dishes, teaching our afternoon cooking classes, organizing events and assembling wholesale packaging. Please note if you'd like to assist with events when filling out your volunteer form.
